Ending Childhood Sexual Violence Community of Practice (ECSV-CoP)
The Ending Childhood Sexual Violence Community of Practice (ECSV-CoP) is a transformative global initiative co-created and led by survivors, advocates, youth leaders, and frontline responders committed to ending childhood sexual violence worldwide. Facilitated by Ignite Philanthropy, this virtual community serves as a vibrant space for connection, collaboration, and shared learning among diverse partners deeply engaged in this crucial work.
Our shared vision is to build a resilient and interconnected global community working in unison to shift structural drivers of childhood sexual violence. The CoP fosters joint advocacy, peer learning, and cross-sector partnerships. We are committed to strengthening the capacity and leadership of organisations led by lived experience and to nurturing new alliances that amplify impact and sustainability.
Why ECSV-CoP?
Despite global commitments to end violence against children, childhood sexual violence remains a persistent and overburdening reality. Many survivors’ experiences remain unheard due to social stigma, gaps in protection systems, and fractured efforts across sectors and geographies. The ECSV-CoP responds directly to these challenges by fostering peer-to-peer collaboration, knowledge exchange, and alliance-building across survivor-led organisations, youth networks, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders. By fostering greater connectivity, we aim to break down silos and accelerate collective impact against childhood sexual violence.
Co-Design and Community Leadership
The ECSV-CoP was thoughtfully co-designed with direct input from more than 20 partners representing survivors, youth leaders, grassroots groups, and organisations affiliated with Ignite programmes such Thrive Together and Sprout as well as Ignite legacy programmes such as the Out of the Shadows Index, and Strategic Networks. Through a series of participatory townhalls held in 2024, community members shaped the CoP’s vision, core values, governance, and virtual platform presence hosted on the Changemakers for Children. Ignite Philanthropy acts as a facilitator supporting the community’s vision and growth, while ownership and key decisions remain with the community itself, ensuring responsiveness, trust, and agency.
All current and past partners of Ignite Philanthropy are welcome to join this community. The ECSV-CoP regularly hosts connectivity sessions and learning sessions for members. Additionally, the virtual platform offers a space for community members to connect, share resources, ask questions, and much more.
HIVE: The First Grant for Collective Action
In August 2025, the ECSV-CoP launched its inaugural grantmaking initiative, HIVE (Harnessing Interconnection for Violence Eradication). This pilot small grants programme was developed in direct response to community needs and is exclusively open to active ECSV-CoP members. HIVE supports joint initiatives that cultivate collaboration and shared action in ending childhood sexual violence. Grants of up to USD 5,000 fund activities such as cross-learning visits, joint advocacy campaigns, regional or thematic collaborations, and co-creation of resources and events. The HIVE grant application and selection process is led by a diverse community Advisory Panel ensuring transparency, inclusiveness, and equitable prioritization of organisations without prior access to flexible support. The first round of HIVE grants supported 6 collaborative projects for partners across Africa and Asia.
